Becoming Certified
InstallationMasters™, prompted by the Building Environment and Thermal Envelope Council (BETEC) through the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and development by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), is a nationwide training and certifications program for new construction and replacement installers of windows and exterior glass doors in residential and light commercial markets. The program is designed to teach installers the best practices and installation techniques based on established industry standards. It provides an assurance that the installer has been trained and has passed the written test.Upcoming Installer Classes

Nationwide Training Opportunities
Training is presented in one of two ways by an InstallationMasters™ Accredited Instructor:- Training through sponsoring companies. Please contact companies whose products you use or who are in your geographical location.
- Training through the Program Administrator. If you are interested in a training class using an Architectural Testing Instructor, contact us.
Self-Study Program
This program is designed for individuals who qualify to bypass the training by meeting specific criteria listed in the handbook. The self-study program includes a 260 page training manual, a 21 segment video and a test voucher. After taking all the time necessary to become completely familiar with the training materials, self-study certification candidates will contact an individual qualified to protect tests to schedule a date and time to take the test. Individuals qualified to proctor tests can generally be located at local libraries, learning centers or community colleges. Certification candidates are warned that the self-study course requires significant personal commitment to successfully attain the knowledge necessary to pass the final test. Contact us for more information on the self-study program.Online Self-Study Program
The National Glass Association (NGA) offers an online self-study program for the InstallationMasters™ Program. Once a participant completes all of the segments of the program on the NGA website, we will contact that participant to verify their one year of experience and arrange for them to take the exam with a proctor.Installer Program Materials
